Most of the pedestrian areas along the main roads in Taipei are covered - they are actually the fronts of buildings. The sidewalks themselves are usually full of scooters and vendors and making your way from one place to another can be a real challenge. On the streets and lanes, though, there are usually no sidewalks, and you just walk alongside the cars, hoping not to get smashed by a scooter. Posted by Hello
