A broken down chair in Makong, the main city in Penghu. Taken shortly after we arrived from the airport, the sky was as clear and blue as it would be during our long weekend in Penghu. There will soon be more pics from Penghu posted at outintheworldpenghu.blogspot.com.  Posted by Hello

your pictures of structures are so crisp and almost distant, and your closeups have a special warmth. i like the distinction between the wide world and the intimate, not sure if that is deliberate or not.

I don't really know if it is deliberate or not, either. I've never taken any kind of photography class, and really when I shoot things I am literally focusing and pressing a little button. I like to think that there is some intention when I do that, though, at least in the sense that the photos are a reflection of what I am seeing, and how I am seeing it. When I am taking close-up pictures of things like chairs and windows, then, I guess I'm trying to capture the beauty I see in things that might just go overlooked on any other day.
